This is a good place for a daytrip with friends, the temperatures are high during the day and very cold during the night. A night at the tented camps was a great experience.

I've driven across the Magadi salt flats a handful of times now, and rarely have I seen such a beautiful landscape. Though the smell is a bit much (get ready for a powerful blast of rotting eggs), the scenery more than makes up for it,...More

This is a good place for a daytrip with friends not recommended for the young ones, the temperatures are high and the water tastes funny so you are highly recommended to carry your own water.

Phenomenon landscape aside, forget even the mirage of the Masai walking at a distance in the scorching sun, the natural spa that has healing powers, and strong skin anti-oxidant sums up the worthwhile day trip to Lake Magadi

Did a day trip excursion from Nairobi. The road is not in good shape, specially near Magadi town. I went there for the Flamingos and I saw thousands of them. I hired a tour guide for 1000 ksh and he showed me where to see...More

Fantastic photo opportunities of the landscape, geological formations and the wildlife. Particularly the flamingos and pelicans.

Lake Magadi is a different place compared to other Conservancies in Kenya. You can see some animals but what it is great here is the landscape. It is like to be in the moon. And sometimes you can see the maasais walking in this inhospitable...More

While visiting other lakes, the flamingo's just seem to have left for the next lake. Here in Lake Magadi you are guaranteed to see tens of thousands of Flamingo's. Some times mixed with Great White Pelicans and African Spoonbills and countless waders. The hot springs...More

A tough ride as the road is unfortunately not well maintained when compared to my previous visit in the 80's. The flamingoes are an obvious attraction in this dry, dusty saline lake basin but so are the hot springs (best found with a guide obtained...More
