Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple has to be one of the well-organised and less of pay-to-dharisanam style temples in South India. Very strict dress code is followed and only Hindus are allowed. Photography is strictly prohibited. Mobiles/bags are not allowed. Expect lengthy queues on auspicious days and during special poojai times during the day. We went for choroonu/annaprasannam for our baby... More

One needs to plan in advance and stand in a long queue for admission - these could be extremely long on festivals But the queue is very well managed

We reached by 7.30 pm. The queue to get inside started moving at 8 pm and we could complete darshan and come out by 9.30 pm. The crowd was large especially due to the Sabarimala pilgrims. No hassles. The queue moved swiftly. Of course, you can get only a few seconds to have darshan of the lord. If you need... More

Its one of the must visit temples in Kerala where you can feel the sanctity. You need lots of patience if you wish to have Darshan, as the queue is very long. Don't forget to buy prasadam and payasam.

We visited this temple on the month of december 2016. Actually went for the friend marriage. Awesome Dharshan it was. But the queue will be more. You can see elephants. Better you remove your shirts if you are a guy when entering into temple. People might be approaching you with offers for prashadham, Be aware. Cloak room is advantage to... More

Very good temple. Well maintained and organized. Crowded most of the time but that does not deter if you are a devotee. Athaza Seeveli - Deity taken around on elephant top, usually 3 elephants is worth seeing. Happens in the evening around 8.30 pm.

Like all famous Temples One should be mentally prepared to stand and wait for long hours.Though well maintained,in the end chaos prevail and one can hardly get a glimpse of the Lord. The diyas lit everywhere is something very special and leaves a lasting impression.

We have been to Guruvayur temple for our baby's chorunnu ceremony. There is a separate entrance for Annaprashan, you have to take the staircase near the main entrance. This will lead you directly to the Annaprashan hall (but we went through the main entrance as the queue was not much). You have to pay ₹10 as ticket for the ceremony.... More
