We had a walk along the front at Parkgate whilst staying at the Ship Hotel. The area is spotless and well maintained offering a number of shops including ice cream establishments and restaurants. Well worth a visit.

We had an excellent afternoon visiting Parkgate. The buildings are beautiful and the seafront provides fabulous views across the estuary to Wales. There are very good ice cream shops and restaurants. Really interesting and unusual.

Have been visiting Parkgate for over seventy years! When I first visited there was sand yacht racing! Now it is just marshland off the front, but there are still nice restaurants, ice cream shops and a good hotel, The Ship.

It’s a friendly place to go, Wirral’s mini trip out to see the Welsh hills, the rushes, lake and birds and the obligatory ice cream. It’s about two miles from Gayton off the A540 Chester High Road. Worth a stroll.

An attractive and historical parade that has much of interest. The extensive views, historical housing. The road is narrow and parking can be difficult. The rewards are the famous and chip shop and the Parkgate Ice cream parlour as well as several pubs. Always worth...More
