As one of the old Chinese gates to the city, Pungnammun is a relic of Jeonju's history. It is just on an island in the middle of the road, but it becomes a lot more scenic at night when it is illuminated.
We passed by this Pungnammun gate along the way to Nambu market.
Monumental structure which gave this city a different feel to it, a pivotal one.
Historical site which was re-built in 1768.

You will definitely pass by Pungnammun when you are walking from the Hanok Village/Jeondong Catholic Church to Nambu Market. It offers a different view in the day and night. In the day it looks traditional, and at night it's lit up and looks really beautiful!
I didn't plan to visit Pungnammum at all. On the way back from dinner, I just walked aimlessly around before going back to the village, and saw this ancient monument not far away. It was pretty when lit up. I went to have a look...More
