a definitely worthwhile adventure to learn about the life and times of discovering Newfoundland. 20 minute drive on poor road but no a big deal and then a walking tour to see how the early settlers survived in this land..great for all ages..and stop at Joe's Bar on the way out

Many times on the highway saw the sign “Random Passage Site” but didn’t go to see until this year! Great to be able enter all the buildings there, like a step back in time. You’ll enjoy! Glad we visited!
From the site we took on a great hike adventure to 1960’s resettled communities Kerley’s Harbour and British Harbour.

We LOVED our visit to the Random Passage site. The tour guide was knowledgeable and the stories were interesting. The site gives a terrific feeling for what it must have been like to settle in Newfoundland -- and it is BEAUTIFUL. Connie and her staff were absolutely great -- meeting them was a particular gift.

Friends had recommended that we watch Random Passage before our trip to Newfoundland. We enjoyed it very much so were excited to see the movie set. Our guide, Gary, did a great job of bringing the site to life and we look forward to re-watching the series when we get home

Very friendly staff at the store/restaurant where you pay for your ticket to the site. It is a little bit of a walk (about 15 minutes) to the actual site, but it has nice scenery along the walk. Was greeted by Linda (I think), she was very friendly and was very well informed.

Wing Commander landed here 14 years ago and there was nothing but the movie site and the Anglican church. Now there is a beautifully restored school house as a welcome centre and of course Joe’s Bar from ‘The Great Seduction.’
Fourteen years ago one mini series but since then two more movies.
Great spot for photos.
Q Tip: Watch out for kitchen parties at Joe’s.

We hadn't seen the TV series yet, but seeing the set made the video more interesting. The location buildings (houses, church and fishing stage and flake) where meticulously constructed and the tour guide did a good job of explaining and answering questions. Leave lots of time to navigate the poor roads in. The whole Bonavista peninsula seemed to have bad roads.

There is about a 15 minute walk from the Tea Room parking lot, down a gravel road, to the site. There is also handicapped parking at the end of the gravel road closer to the location. This is the TV location of the series "Random Passage". It is authentic in detail to an old outport community in Newfoundland years ago. We didn't take the tour as we hadn't read the books or seen the show but it was a haunting site with the fog coming in...
There is a hiking trail worth taking that continues past the site to Kerney's Cove & on to English Harbour (not well marked). The road through Trouty, Old & New Bonaventure to get to this site is in horrible condition so drive slowly and when there is a bump sign they really mean it!!

My friend and I took this tour in on the advice of the locals. It's a bit of a drive to get to but then everything in Newfoundland is. They chose this site because the is 360 degrees of wilderness. No sign of civilization. Our tour guide was fantastic. I kept forgetting she was talking about a movie. The picture opportunities are abundant.
