I spent two days in Puerto Penasco and decided to leave the commercialism behind with the tourists and go to Caborca en route back to the Arizona border. I had no problems driving from Puerto Penasco to Carborca with only my dog; the road was a little bumpy in places but I've driven many times before in Baja so accustomed... More

We've been coming here for years to visit family in the area. This church has a great story and is a sense of local pride for many of the townspeople. Worth a visit if you are passing by or near Puerto Penasco.

Just south of the heart of Caborca on the banks of a dry river bed that once took our nearly half of the mission sits the Historic Padre Kino Caborca Mission building. Superb architecture, beautiful grounds, and a must see for anyone in the Puerto Penasco/Caborca region of Sonora.
