A walk around the botanical gardens is a must when visiting Cairns. There are some great boardwalk paths amongst the trees.

I walked from my hotel near the esplanade and caught the bus back. Nice cafe and visitor centre. Lovely walks and an overwhelming number of tropical plants. The orchid conservatory that also houses butterflies was a highlight

One of the nicest botanical gardens I have been. Though not many flowers, there were lots of trees and even an elevated walk through the rainforest. Very neat place to visit if you are in Cairns.

There are some nice walks with good views when you get up the top. There were a lot of stairs but it was worth the walk
