When people mention Yandangshan (Yandang mountains), they usually refers to North Yandangshan, where the popular and AAAAA scenic areas are located. You'll need to stay 3 nights, having 2 whole days to explore the scenery. The most popular scenic areas are 2 Ling's (Lingfeng, Lingyan) and 1 Dragon (Big Dragon Pond Waterfall), so check those 3 places out first, then... More

Yandang mountain park is definitely a well established tourist destination, and like many places in China there were coaches full of chinese tourists being escorted through the mountain path, but that may have been because I visited on a Saturday. On the main trail it was lively and lined with heaps of restaurants serving authentic Wenzhounese cuisine and I really... More

Possibly coming from Nanxi River, where it was tough to get around, awfully expensive to do anything, Yandang looked better. But, with some really incredible scenery, it was just an impressive place to be. Plenty of cheap hotels from 100-200rmb a night in the mini-downtown, many at the base of the cliff face offering peace and quite. And a very... More

This is a good place to see and experience the nature and environment, it's better to spend a few day there as there is a lot of things to do and see, and many good restaurants in the nearby village. There is also a show performing in the afternoon.

I was told that the mountains here are "normal" rather than spectacular. This is an accurate description, but they are quite lovely. The Linfeng area has a number of huge caves with temples built into them that are interesting. Lovely views as you walk between them. The night walk is heavily promoted but overpriced, as it's the same price as... More

Yandang mountains are spectacular and well worth a visit. No foreigners, only Chinese people. Great walking under overhanging cliffs and a scary hanging bridge.

Granted, the views from the top are decent on a clear day (it was cloudy when we visited, had to wait for cloud patches to blow over to catch the views), but compared to the more famous chinese mountain ranges, the mountains here are pretty ordinary ... Good place to stop by if you're driving past, but not worth coming... More

Of the 10 days I spent in China this was the highlight. I followed the advice of one reviewer on these pages and went on my own and stayed in the nearby village. It was easy to get a hotel room and to move around on public transport. a must if you are passing by on the high speed train.
