Our hotel was next to the mosque, so we got to enjoy seeing it and the surrounding square and streets our whole time here, but seeing the inside of the mosque itself was very short and simple. The gift carpet from Iran and pulpits were...More

Visitors can buy a ticket out of praying hours, a large garden, friendly guys ready to answer questions in English. The mosque is large, though less impressive and imposing for the largest in Xinjiang, prayer sections are ofc limit but are easily viewed.

For one of the oldest mosques in China I guess I expected a larger mosque. More than the mosque we enjoyed the square. Good place to people watch, take candid photos, shop and eat.

The place is very important to the local people, including your guide. Is it really scenic and worth a visit? No. But do it to honor your guide.

The mosque looks impressive and the square outside the mosque is a good place to stroll and relax. Restaurants, shops and the night market are nearby. Inside the mosque, the atmosphere is calm and serene.
