This park is no longer a provincial park and thus facilities are all closed. However, the trails are still open. We visited quite often with our dogs and most of the time on trails, we rarely saw a soul. It's perfect to enjoy the nature and its peacefulness. In winter time, do watch out for the rude cross country skier (very rarely but he/she does exist) who thinks the trails are for their amusement and your walking messes it all up.

"As of March 31, 2013 Springwater Park became non-operational. The public are welcome to use the park, free of charge, but must enter on foot from the front gates. If you wish to visit please park responsibly, away from Highway 26; there is room for vehicles to park along the entryway."
Beautiful park with lots of trails. The forest is stunning - even in the winter. I would come back every weekend if I lived in the area! The trails were still very snowy but we took the snowshoe loop which was bit more hard-packed and easier to walk on.

Not interested in paying $11.25 for an hour visit. Self pay station would not cycle thru pay/time options as advertised.

Very good cross country skiing experience during the winter, and good times nature walking during the summer. Has a little bit of something for everyone. Get outdoors and go there!

Springwater is a fairly small park until you walk into the pathway behind the fence. It has flags, a covered area with 2 picnic tables and a historic plaque. It was pleasant the day I went , bright and sunny. It was a nice quiet place.

I had read that the park facilities were not open. Open driving up to the park a gentleman whom tends to the park said it is in fact open trails, washrooms etc. My provincial park pass was still valid to use other wise yiu can pay $3.00. He said they are encouraging people to pay the lowest rate just so they can show how much h the park is being used. He was very friendly. We walked 2 trails with our 3 dogs and only came upon 2 other ladies on the trail. We walked the 5 km red trail and the 2 km purple trail with our dogs off leash! Nice easy trails.

How are the cross country ski trails today?

Yes, Springwater does have day-use fees, which are paid per vehicle. To spend the full day, the fee is $11.25 ($9.00 for seniors). If you've only got time for short visit, fees are $3.00 for 2 hours or less, and $5.75 for 2-4 hours.
