We had a lovely wander around this well kept park. The dog enjoyed a good run. The flower borders are beautiful. Used the cafe for a good cup of coffee and a lovely slice of cake.

Firstly be aware that this is Lydney park for the residents. It's not a tourist attraction per se and shouldn't be judged by the standards of a tourist attraction.

My local park from where I was a child has had all the children's play equipment (swings, roundabouts, climbing frames etc) removed and all that's left is a field with a football pitch.

Bathurst park however has a fountain with fish, a children's play area, beautiful flowers, at least a couple of sports pitches, a delightful and very reasonably priced café, a wonderful mural, and a full scale wooden carving of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, all maintained to a very high degree..

A short walk takes you out past the mural, past a pleasant church and graveyard, across an iron bridge over a railway line and down to a very pleasant boating lake - beware the large numbers of geese who will aggressively protect their young.

On a hot summer's day it was an utter delight.

Lydney should be very proud of its park and the people who maintain and care for it and its facilities.

Fantastic well kept park great for all the family. Cafe well priced and toys in the cafe to bring outside for the kids was a nice touch. Spoke to locals as we are tourists for the week and everyone was lovely. A great place to visit, free parking too which is nice.

This park is still a delight to walk around. The flowers by the bandstand are simply stunning at the moment and probably will be until at least after the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. Unlike most parks I have visited recently I wasn't intimidated by cyclists. The mural at the Church Road entrance is also a delight to look at. Keep it up Lydney! Please note: the cafe was closed today (it is probably seasonal).

We recently came across this gem of a park by accident. What a beautiful space; well kept fields with mature trees, exercise stations all around it, tennis courts, bowls, children’s playground, a lovely cafe, a grandstand and a gorgeous rose garden and hundreds of newly planted annuals, a working fountain and large pond.
We are really impressed with the amount of care and very hard work that clearly goes into keeping this place looking so wonderful.
Thank you for making our day.

Strolled around this park this afternoon. This is a real asset to Lydney with its excellent play areas, fountains and bandstand. I would certainly recommend at least 1 to 2 hours here depending on how much time you have and whether or not you want to use the cafe.

Great park - kids love it, adults love walking around it. Took my dad there for the first time with the 6 year old who wanted to show Grampy her favourite park. He was amazed at what there was vs what he has at his place. Fantastic place to spend a few hours.

Wide open spaces, nice play area for the little ones and a fearsome slide. Nice cafe for an ice cream or tea/coffe.

A lovely park. We had nice couple of hours in the park We came through the alleyway between the cottages at the church end and we liked the murals on the walls. We walked around the perimeter of the park to the railway line. Along the this fencing you come across a Game of Thrones chair carved out of a tree stump. A work of art. The park had a very nice play area for children in a fenced off area. The park also had a football and rugby pitch.
