We visited all the museums within this fort whilst staying at its own hotel. It is fascinating and the museums are excellent using modern display methods with films and clever lighting and music to make it a full experience.

Plan to spend a few hours. It is great fun to take the funiculars from level to level, then walk all the way down from the top. These things are free; the exhibits cost extra. Views are spectacular! Be sure also to walk through the...More

Having seen this on the Giro d'Italia as they went flying past, we decided we would go. Then we found you can stay there. An absolutely amazing place to visit. The whole experience is very good.

Absolutely stunning from the outside, unfortunately not much inside, a lot of rooms showing history and arts. The Prisons are nice, to understand how they were and a little history of the place. View is great, both walking to the top and from the elevator

Just brilliant to visit this imposing fortress that dominates the valley. The Alps museum has some really bonkers multimedia exhibits as well traditional stuff about the history of life in the alps, including flora and fauna. Something for everyone, but most explanations only in French...More

there are trains and buses in that area. For sure it is feasible and no need to go back to Aosta. Only issue is December. It might be already snowing.
