Hard to Relax

The beach was a disappointment unfortunately. It has a very nice chill vibe to it, and the waves really make a large sand embankment. However, it is pretty busy, even on a weekend.

It's popular with local tourists, but also with other locals who constantly bother you. Some of them bother you for things like selling stuff or services like horse-riding. Others were beggars, but they were really persistent and doing upsetting things like hurting a friendly dog in front of us for money.

On top of all this, the beach is also dirty and doesn't have any toilet or shower facilities.

I recommend going for a stroll here, but nothing more, it's really hard to relax here - perhaps it would be better on a private beach nearby.

Needs cleaning for sure

Good sea place n big beach to enjoy but it’s filthy n very dirty needs serious cleaning for sure

Food option absolutely avoidable unless you HAVE TO EAT otherwise it’s not n hygienic at all

But beach is beautiful n must see place and can spend lots of time with family n friends

Fascinating beach

Spending time in Blu Radisson resort we walked along this fascinating beach twice a day or more. Always interesting. Full of life. Beautiful people enjoying themselves, often entire families. Ladies bathing in their colorful dresses. Food stalls and boats. It gets busy near the fishing village area, and more crowded. The culmination of our walk was always the Temple majestically towering over the beach. While visiting the area enjoy this fascinating beach!

Historic beach

This is main and historic beach of mahabalipuram. Famous Shore Temple situated on the beach. This Beach is more crowded in the evening. Beach is very untidy due to huge fastfood stall and some people. You can enjoy horse and camel riding. You can taste here famous goli soda. From entrance to beach a long sandy walk, you may feel irritated. You should carry sunglasses and cap during summer.

Good for bathing and watching monuments.

Beach is clean and good for bathing. Temples present around the beach are UNESCO World Heritage. If visiting Chennai for tourism purpose then will recommend to take a beach side hotel for a day at this place instead of the core of city.

A small beach with lot of people

This is not a very long beach and strong waves make it unsafe for swimming. We saw many young kids looking for shells, which they sell for a living. These shells are used for handicraft items.

Good sea food

Beach with some Goa like vibes but less crowded, cleanliness is ok,have many sea facing sea food restaurants with reasonably priced,can also check fishermen arrivING and departing to sea for fishing.Sore temple is also walking from beach.Avoid strolling late night.
