Great views of Mt. Fuji, but crowded

We ran into a CRAZY huge line after our boat tour and the line gets worse through the day. I would allow at least 30 minutes if not longer to actually GET on the ropeway. Even if... read more

Only worth it on a clear day when mt fuji is insight, otherwise you can skip it and spend your money some place else.

Definitely a must ride for those wanting to have a good view of lake kawaguchiko and Mt Fuji . tickets under 10 bucks and you can do abit of hiking on top of the mountain. No toilets though up the mountain so take note. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

We ran into a CRAZY huge line after our boat tour and the line gets worse through the day. I would allow at least 30 minutes if not longer to actually GET on the ropeway. Even if you bought the ticket already, you still have to wait. The good part though is that the line moves fast. Even with the... More

Go if you want a view of Mt Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko. If you have been to Chureito Pagoda first you will feel that the view here at the ropeway is just alright.

This is a cool activity but my advice is check 2 things: first is whether they are doing building work at the top. They were when we visited and it massively restricted the space (meaning the best viewing spots were super crowded); also it spoiled the panoramic view, which is kind of the whole point. Second thing is check the... More

From the moment I arrived at the ropeway I could feel the eyes of strange bunnies and beavers (or raccoons ?!) looking at me. Like most of the places at Lake Kawaguchi, the ropeway was themed in kitsch manner with these animals that have possibly been here since the 70's. You will find them on top of the gondola, and... This was a great experience. When we went it was a bit crowded and the walking area was wet and snow was very slippery but the views you get is breathtaking!

My husband and I arrived at this attraction at 8:30am (it opens at 9), so we made the first cable car up that day. We were amused by the security guard who seemed to have a permanent scowl on his face and liked to swing his police stick around if visitors ventured too close to the opening gate of the... More

You have an excellent unforgettable view on Mount Fuji. However you have to get there before 10AM otherwise the line gets longer and longer and you might have to wait for more than an hour as there is only two cars (one going down, one going up). Return price pp is 800Yen

Absolutely worth the ¥800 return for a great view of Mt Fuji on a clear day. We were told the view was just as good from across the bridge on ground level but we would greatly disagree!!! The bridge view is fine but nothing compared to the ropeway view. It doesn't take long (about 3mins). I'm not great with heights... More
