In late April I had an ecotour with 4 friends in Rio Lagartos! Staying in Merida, we had to start our journey at 0800! It took around 2 hour more to arrive from Merida to Rio Lagartos! Then we got on a boat for 2...More

The number of flamingos you will be able to see on your trip depends on the time of year you visit. The flamigos travel between Ria Lagartos and Celestún for breeding.

We arranged it the day before from the hotel ( perico marinero) We took the earliest tour we could arrange. At 8 am we left, but they do go out earlier if you request it. There really is no big difference in the cost of...More

We went to this place to see the flamingos. Unfortunately, there were very few against a visit we did 2 years ago in the same dates to Celestun, where we saw thousands. Rio Lagartos should have more flamingos than Celestun, but it seems it depends...More

Las Coloradas, it's a great place to take the most amaizing photos. You can't swim in this pink "sea". You can drive a couple km and find a great natural non-turistic beach full with Flamingos. No restaurants, no ATM, no bathrooms. Completely natural reserve. There...More

Loved heading out to see the Flamingos. We opted for the Mayan mud bath which left my skin nice and smooth. I was really disappointed in Las Coloradas- it was much more darker than the pink lake I expected. But overall, I enjoyed my boat...More

Hello One of the reviews above talks about it being "man-made". Is that correct? I assumed they were inferring that the animals had been put there but I may well be getting the wrong end of the stick!

Hello! I don't have the contact of my guide. There are many there that may be available. There are no bathrooms or restaurants so I don't know if it's a good idea to take children. Near by there is a small village with... More
