having visited other panda base in Chengdu this is by far the best location for scenery. It is in the mountains to the West of Chengdu about 2 hours drive from the city and having been open since May 2016 it is quite new. Worth the effort to go for a list though as the scenery around the base is... More

Yes its closed, so the valley is ideal for hiking. Parts of the old road are washed out so the going is tough. Otherwise you will be the only tourist there

We booked the day trip to this reserve via Frasier Suites where we stayed in Chengdu. It is expensive but you sign papers at the base that you acknowledge the money is a donation towards base maintenance, research, and panda care. If you can afford it, and you get less than a minute w the panda (It was my 67th... More

The panda reserve centre is closed. They never reopen after the earthquake. The park has never been open. It is closed.

This is the place with the most pandas I ever visited. A 'must visit' place for everybody (from children to elderly).

If you want to see the Pandas, don't stay only in Chengdu but go where they really belong. Wolong Nature Reserve is the place. I can't describe how amazing is that place. Pandas are in good hands, the staff is working very well and in eco-responsible manner. From Chengdu to Wolong takes around 4-5 hour drive. It's worth it!

A visit to the remote Wolong Panda Reserve in the mountains of Sichuan province in China is well worth the visit just for the opportunity to play with a young panda for about 10 minutes. It costs about $200 to play with the pandas, but the money is well spent because there are darn few places where you can have... More
