Decided to come here for the Mother's Day event they were having. Although the castle itself was disappointing, the gardens were absolutely beautiful.

This is a nice place to visit and walk around. There were no tours when we went - class was in session - but you can enjoy the castle and gardens regardless. Keep an eye open for the peacocks. The museum is informative, but unimpressive.

A local told me to visit the gardens and it was a lovely place to walk and enjoy some spring weather. Had the castle tour that was informative and fun (X-Men filming location = new curtains!). The view to the Sound is lovely and I can only imagine how beautiful this place is when hosting an event.

Great castle with views available from the outside if tours are not available. Worth visiting if you are a fan of xmen filming location.

Hatley Castle, legacy of the Dunsmuir Family, designed by Samuel Maclure for James Dunsmuir. With it's imposing exterior, beautiful gardens, gorgeous interior it is well worth a visit. The castle now serves as the administrative center for Royal Roads University. Located in Colwood, a short trip from downtown Victoria. The grounds front onto Esquimalt lagoon and the Straight of Juan de Fuca... More

A really nice attraction in Victoria. Also, Royal Roads University campus is a beautiful place, not only the castle!

This is a nice local castle which is now part of Royal Roads University and popular for weddings. A nice castle on nice grounds with decent water views.

Great castle !!! Very beautiful! If you don't have a car from downtown Victoria you can simply take a bus!!! Get a day pass!!!!! January not the best time , kinda windy!!!! Probably summer or spring time would be better!!! Still like it!!!!!

There was weather alert warning when we went to Haltley CAstle for a visit But it is a nice place to visit. The Castle itself is a nice place to have a picture with. The surrounding areas are a good place to relax.

We went on Monday while classes were on so we did not get to tour the inside of the castle. We toured the English gardens, the museum and the gift store. The castle is in a beautiful setting near the ocean. We looked for the resident peacocks but could not find them.
