- Beth WCambridge, United Kingdom9 contributionsBeautiful place to swim but very pebbly beach, so take swim shoesThis is such a lovely spot to swim. Not too busy, very calm water in August. A couple of tips rather than bad things, that would have helped us today. It’s a really pebbly beach so take swim/beach shoes. It will help everyone get in and out of the water easier. Also, it’s a steep climb back up, so just take your time. There nothing down there, so take your own water. Cars can park either on the road right at the top, or can go a little further down to the top of the steps. But what an amazing place to swim, and so different from the beach. Great after a really hot day in Gozo.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 14, 2024

- Dolittle Roadmapz49 contributionsPeacefully BlissfulThis is hidden away and you try to reach from Ghasri itself, it’s like playing where’s Wally? Simpler to approach from the salt pans. There is a little parking space at the top (enough for six or seven cars), or park on the road. It’s a beautifully quiet place to hide and wade, but very limited size of beach. There is little place to find shade so you would need something to cover if you need it. The way to the beach is short but steep steps , so test your lungs first. There’s a little juice bar at the top, which is handy on the way back.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 2, 2024

Fantastic little inlet tucked away from the masses - but that’s just as well as there is very little dry land…so when not in the water it can feel crowded! The steep steps, pebbly beach and no facilities mean this is not one for young families - unless the kids are happy spending all their time in the water with snorkel and mask. Why 3 stars? Unfortunately this gem js being spoilt by motor boats that have taken to coming into the inlet. This is dangerous and is damaging the pristine environment. Like so much of what is happening on Gozo.

Not as great as other people make it out be . The water is disgusting and full with plastic and bugs, the rocks are impossible to walk on because they are slippery and the pebbly part is extremely painful to walk on. It doesn't look anything like in the pictures, my friends and i entered the water and we were disgusted, the rocks hurt to walk on and it was full of glass shards. All around the area it reeked of fish and my friend was stung by a jellyfish. After we left we all had a rash for 1 week and our holiday was ruined. Not safe for children at all. For driving all the way down and walking down the steep stairs its not worth it. Dont come here.

Getting here is an adventure. It is best to leave the car a considerable distance away and travel on foot. Go down and you will find a “U” of rocks where you can place your towels and… dive!!! It's a good idea to bring shoes for the rocks. Upstairs there is a trailer/bar.

We went here twice during our holiday. It's great for snorkelling; the visibility was excellent, we saw lots of fish, and on our second visit we spotted a moray eel. It wasn't very busy; a few couples/families, but lots of space once you're away from the very shallow area. It's a short but steep walk down. This place is a must if you want to snorkel.

A spectacular, magical place!! A true paradise! First we went there by boat and then we returned on foot from the side of the very small pebble beach. Water with a thousand shades, clean and warm!!

Make sure you do not throw even a single cigarette bud so the place will remain clean. If you see some papers or garbage pick it up. Thank you. We are proud of our Natur sites.

It really is a very beautiful tourist spot. However, it is advisable to rent a car/motorbike to go there because transport is not very frequent and leaves people a 15-30 minute walk (depends on the bus you take) under the sun and along deserted paths. There are no supermarkets or cafes nearby so take water and food. Furthermore, you may find the sea rough, which makes it impossible to bathe or go diving.

Hi, I would like to visit this amazing bay next week, what is the easiest way to arrive? If i take a taxi, where the taxi will leave me? Far from the beach? Can someone please explain to me or tell me, if you went here, how to arrive? thank you very much

Oppure 2 km a piedi fino a Qbajjar bay e poi bus fino a Marsalforn. La baia (ma sarebbe meglio dire canyon) è poco pubblicizzata e non segnalata ma è una tappa imperdibile. Il taxi lascia sulla stradina (100 m circa) che poi porta alle scalette da cui scendere fino al mare.

Hi there, I am staying on the opposite size of Gozo in Mgarr. What is the best way to get to Wied il-Ghasri by bus as we won't have a rental car?
Written August 21, 2016
It is awkward to get to, bicycles you can hire, quad bike hire, or even a return journey taxi, none are expensive. But make sure you go !
