About
A stunning Victorian lodge, superbly located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, in the village of Kincraig between the Cairngorms and Monadhliath mountain ranges. This Kincraig self-catering lodge is equal distance from Aviemore to the north and Kingussie to the south and guests will love the traditional features, combined with 'old world charm' and the benefits of modern facilities. High ceilings and lots of space set this Kincraig self-catering lodge apart from other cottages, and the ground floor has two stunning sitting rooms, one with an open fire and the other with a woodburner, while both have big settees and great views of the mountain ranges from the windows. The impressive formal dining room comes complete with massive square table and tartan dining chairs, and is a perfect place for a special meal prepared in the lovely bespoke fitted kitchen just next door. All the bedrooms in this Kincraig self-catering lodge have lovely views, and benefit from en-suite facilities.

The house was a fantastic place and has a very atmospheric setting, it had everything we needed and the owners welcomed us with lovely home bakes. We celebrated my mum's 60th there from all different age groups and we have agreed to come back together for longer next time, 3 nights was just not enough. Our little furry friends also loved the nice walks around the grounds and the local areas. Thank you to the owners for making our time away so special and making good memories with the family x

Perfect setting for a trip away with a group of friends. The house was lovely and more than spacious enough for all 15 of us. Great garden and living areas, the hot tub was particularly popular. We managed to get away on some fantastic day trips around avimore and into the stunning cairngorms, Loch Morlich was a highlight. The owners were extra friendly and helpful! Would 100% be back for another stay as there was so much more to do, we couldn't scratch the surface in a week.

Couldn't recommend Suidhe Lodge enough. It's in a fab location, with a lot of activities around about. The house itself is brilliant, one of the best equipped we've stayed in. All of the bedrooms have en suites which is really rare! Hot tub was awesome and private, disappointed we weren't there in the summer to use the bbq! There's a pub literally on the side of the house, and plenty of parking for everyone. Would absolutely recommend renting this for a weekend!

When we arrived in kincraig, it was like arriving in Narnia. The amazing countryside and breathtaking views were just the start of an incredible Christmas we spent at Suidhe lodge. When we arrived at the house and opened the door to this old, Downton abbey style house I couldn't believe it! The grand hall and the cozy living rooms with roaring fires make you feel at home instantly. I felt like this was more than hotel. This was a home. It was the perfect place to spend Christmas. In fact, I don't think I have ever such a traditional and beautiful Christmas. The family not only welcomes you into their house but into their family. They offered us mince pies as we met all there friends in the adjoining pub. I definitely would recommend this place even if I kind of want to keep it to myself !!

We visit Kincraig many times throughout the year and we ALWAYS make time to stop in for a pint & a chat at The Suidhe. The host family are so welcoming and friendly, happy to help whenever they can, the decor is so rustic and the wood burning fire is a bonus in the winter time...a really cozy atmosphere!
The pool table and juke box always go down a treat and its a dog friendly pub too which is great- wouldn't want to leave the pooch outside would you?!?
Over all, a great wee place to relax and get a wee dram! A++++

I booked this lodge 2 years ago for my husbands 50th birthday where we checked with the owner that the garden was fully enclosed as we have 2 dogs. I was sent a message from the owner to say that it was and that the only other access was for a cottage in the garden which had it's own separate garden also enclosed. To our dismay the garden was not enclosed, it actually had a pathway/track down the side of it which led to a main road both ways so our dogs could not be let off the lead for the whole week and in turn meant we had to go out with them all the time. To top this off we had to keep going out to shut the gates as the public were walking through this pathway and leaving the gate open. One day we had to shut it 8 times which really spoilt our very expensive break.
The house itself is a bit tired and I would not call it luxury. No matching glasses to have wine with our dinner, a dirty greasy kettle and blender to mention a few.
When raising this with the owner she is stating that the public do not walk through but in a text at the end of our holiday said she understood as she has a dog too (this was before she knew I was going to put my comments in writing).
I have proof that the owner told me the garden was enclosed and also a text to say thank you for leaving the house so tidy when we left. Now however she is saying that we marked the walls with banners - couldn't have done that as they were placed along the fire places under ornaments and hooked over pictures and curtain rails - not attached to any walls so this must be their own markings - as I say a bit tired is the house. The owner is also now accusing us of leaving our dog mess in the garden and again I can assure you we left none as we clear up each time and even did a final check before we left!
The owner also expected me to run over to her house about dirty kettles, lack of amenities each time, I am sorry but I was on my first holiday in 2 years that I paid over ÂŁ2300 for.
So disappointing that the owner cannot take responsibility for the mis-selling and feedback on this occasion. It is clearly being sold and a lack of interest. Oh did I mention you don't get to use the hot tub until the 2nd day too - where does it say that in the description.
We booked through Sykes Holidays who also have taken no accountability.

Amazing cottage and welcoming place to stay. Hot tub outside, open plan accommodation and comfortable bedrooms. Great after a day out and about.
Wished we had longer.

Just back from Suidhe Lodge and Cottage celebrating our 45th Wedding anniversary with 20 friends in all. Fantastic time had by all. Their owners can't do enough to make your stay memorable, nothing was too much bother for them. The bar was great with the staff behind the bar joining in with the musicians! One thing I would say is ...if you think that you will need to take kitchen appliances....you don't there's everything there! Beds were comfy and although it dropped to -7 it was cosy. Can't recommend the Lodge highly enough, oh, and the hot tubs were to die for.

Located just a 20min walk from Loch Insh water sports centre, and about the same from Alvie Estate, with an onsite bar and spacious kitchen/garden, Suidhe is perfect for a getaway.
We, a group of 16, were there for four nights but could easily have stayed longer.
Very well equipped kitchen made cooking for the group easy, plenty of plates, mugs and glasses to go around. The kitchen / dining is spacious and well laid out. It rained a fair bit during our stay but we were nowhere near crowded indoors.
The lodge sleeps 16, in 6 bedrooms. However, there's also two living rooms with sofas!
Owners available to answer any questions / help out, however you only notice them if you're looking for them. Their apartment is self contained within the house with its own entrance.
Would highly recommend, pricing is accurate for facilities available.
