For anyone with an interest in military history, this is an excellent museum. You will of course get more out of the visit if you understand German, but even someone with no German skills will appreciate the excellent collection of period arms and uniforms.

We were excited to visit the Blüchermuseum in Kaub, however we had to hunt for it. It is almost hidden away on a side street. The hand painted wall paper inside is amazing. For such a small museum, it has a lot to offer. The main theme of the museum is how Prussian Field Marshal Blücher crossed the Rhine on a pontoon bridge. There is also some beautiful furniture as well as personal possessions that once belonged to Field Marshal Blücher. For such a small price, it was well worth it.

For a moderately small museum the amount of displays and material are excellent! If visiting Kaub you may have to ask where the museum is, but once there you will be glad you went.
