We visited on July 2016. We were two families with teenagers The short path up to the castle is very steep and not easy. The castle is very interesting and holds a lot of history. It represents few stages of construction over the years. The guided tour is offered in only Italian and German; however, there was quite a few... More

I liked the castle tour, but our car window was smashed by gypsies while we were on the tour. It is deserted in the parking lot at the bottom and you have to go up a big hill to the castle for the tour and they gypsies know exactly when the tour is and that you can't hear anything inside.... More

Reifenstein Castle was a highlight of my 5 week long trip. My family and I drove to the castle which was not very far from the city center. While there is a way to get there by foot, I would not suggest walking as it requires quite a long trek. We had friends who rode their bikes, and it took... More

This castle represents an untouched castle that allows one to see the stages of construction over a fairly short period of time, seeing how people arrived, where they ate, bathed, slept, and how the classes were separated. The tour was presented in both German and English by a woman who was very knowledgable and thorough. The structure is not large,... More

We spent 2 evenings in Vipenteno on our Austria-Italy-Germany vacation and had little to no expectations upon arrival. Our hotel gave us a small brochure with a few attractions so we made the short drive 2 km or so from the city centre. There is a small walk up to the castle, and you must arrive early to ensure you... More

This castle was awesome! It felt as if we'd stepped back in time. The woman who guided us through the castle gave a very in depth explanation of the castle and its history. the tour was included in the entry price and was much better than some tours we took where you have to pay extra.
