A true paradise for windsurfers. Recommended bathing in the sea are for the more experienced, recommended to visit the lighthouse but only with suitable footwear.

The trail up to the lighthouse has been upgraded a bit -- still vertiginous, above a breathtaking rocky coast. A 30-45 minute walk, not too, but narrow and often quite windy. In a nutshell, totally worth it -- have lunch at the Santo André Restaurant...More

This is paradise! An empty sandy beach with light blue/green water. You can clearly see the bottom of the ocean even when in depth. If you stay in Mindelo, take a taxi and ask him to leave you in the beah for a couple of...More

This is mainly for relaxing BY the beach and not really for swimming. You can walk and also lay on the sand but it seems water streams (even when the sea it's relatively calm) are tricky and not the safest. If you are into surfing...More

This beach is like 20 minutes from Mindelo city center. It's very easy to get to and don't really need to stay at the resort hotel here. This seems to be a good beach for wind surfers. It was nice and quiet when we visited.
