PERFECT thing to do on a foggy Peninsula afternoon
Jul. 2021 • Couples
As we proceeded around the western tip of iceland, fog and drizzle kept national park and fjord views to a minimum.
My beloved, on realizing my horse-sore arthritic hips could surely benefit, agreed to one final thermal pool there on the fog-enshrouded south coast😲. Compared to Myvtan Nature Spa, this spa was downright neighborly! Large pool, 2 hot pots, 1 cold
For $21.83 both of us had a good soak. Front desk locks your valuables, no lockers, no frills...

Quaint and authentic
Aug. 2019 • Couples
The pools were obviously built by and for the locals. A nice place at the foot of mountains to hang out with your friends and neighbors after work. I went to at least 6 pools and spas in Iceland, including all the big ones. This pool stays in my memory as having a genuine authentic feel. But be warned that this pool has the most algae. I think the algae works and love it. Authentic in this case means algae, which is not to everyones taste but worth a try.

I found that the written information and instructions in Iceland were very precise. Read everything carefully because it is all there and accurate.

Slippery when wet
Sep. 2018 • Friends
As others have said, this is an algae pool, and you must be prepared. That being said the main pool was a pleasant temperature and not overly crowded. The two hot tubs were another matter. Both were very full. When I went into the hot tub, the stairs were extremely slick as the traction pads for the stairs had been removed. I slipped but caught myself, the next two people who tried to enter the tub were not so lucky. They both slipped and fell. After the fourth person fell, a staff member went to grab the traction pads. Overall, an okay experience, but use caution as algae makes things very slick.

Sit in warm, carbonated algae pools!
Aug. 2018 • Family
First, these are algae pools. We walked into the water with a family who turned right around because the water was “gross.” It isn’t gross, but it is entirely as advertised. There is a large pool and two smaller tubs of different temperatures. It was crowded when we visited, which made for a less-than-pleasant experience. There was no soap in 3/4 dispensers in the shower (and you’re going to want to have soap shower before and after), and only one blow dryer which was monopolized while I was there. You need to bring your own towels or rent some. Renting the float cap looks like a total waste of money—if you can’t float without, there are pool noodles.

Enchanting, wonderful, amazing, magical, stunning....
Jul. 2018 • Couples
What can we say? We had such an amazing time here! Definitely a MUST DO in the area. It's just magical and beautiful. Loved the green pool. There is one large pool and two hot tubs. It is slippery from the algae but that is part of the experience. The view is stunning and the experience is beyond description. Great for your health, mind and spirit. If you go and have a little time to spare, definitely talk with Margaret. She is a true delight and a very talented artist and photographer. Her work is available in a little greenhouse gallery behind the pool. It was a like a dream seeing such a talent, inspiration and wonderful pieces in this setting. We are so happy we went and got some priceless mementos of our experience by buying two photographs which we will treasure forever. She also some amazing magnet charms you can buy in the reception area of the pool. You will not find these original, unique and stunning pieces anywhere else in Iceland! This place truly gave us "life" and we cannot recommend it enough. Until the next time!!!1 PS: thank you for everything - it was one of the best times of our trip!!!

Nice little pool
Jul. 2018 • Family
This is a nice little pool on the south side of the Snaefellsnes peninsula.

There is a small parking lot. It costs 1,000 ISK to enter.

There is a large swimming pool and two small hot tubs. They are all warm, and outside.

Decent pool to visit
May 2017 • Solo
The Lýsuhólslaug is a decent pool to visit. Only open during the summer, the mineral rich water is great to relax and float in. Changing area is in need of an upgrade, but if in the area, worth a stop to enjoy a soak.

We came after a long day and that was just what we needed! It cost a 1000 kr pp and inside you have a large pool which is warm and 2 hot tubs in 2 different tempratures, the water are natural with no chemicals and therfore it is important to takea good shower with no cloths on before you get in (no soap!)

Hot Pot!
Jul. 2017 • Couples
This is a nice all natural thermal pool with 2 "hot tubs. There a natural green algae which might look a little weird but was SO great. Our skin never felt so good when we got back from Iceland!
