I've driven and cycled this route several times over the past 4 years. Today was a cycle with my teenage son. Ideally, you should go as early or late in the days as you can to avoid the hordes. It is always a popular road....More

We had a cloudy day and thought we should visit Cap de Formentor like we have done before. So did thousands of other tourists so beware of what the traffic volume is before going on with it. We had to turn around when it got...More

Probably the best views of our holiday were from Formentor. A very steep drive on pretty narrow mountain roads but well worth the drive. Views to Menorca one way and all over Alcudia area the other. There is also a snack bar and a toilet...More

Luckily we chose a good day to visit as the weather had been a bit hit and miss the days before. Yes, the drive is a tad tricky, but this is only due to the silly drivers overtaking cyclists on blind bends. We encountered a...More

This road cannot handle both the outrageous number of discourteous bicyclists and all of the cars that want to make the trip. The result is a 25km drive that takes hours, including an hour wait at the end to get a parking spot. So, think...More

We decided to just drive to the first main stop as we had heard the actual views were just as good. Turned out to be a wise decision as the road onto Formentor was absolute chaos with coaches getting stuck on the bends etc and...More

I caught this on a relatively slow day, without too much traffic, vehicular or otherwise, and found it a fun drive. Extraordinary landscape, extraordinary road...worth the trip.

Good views and if you want an added thrill climb the dodgy looking metal ladder up the tower for more views

Cap De Formentor is a lighthouse perched on a out-cliff over looking the coast, Majorcans apparently call it "Meeting of the Winds". It's worth a visit but you'd best go very early as the road in and out is quite tight in places, the road...More

I didn't take notes on that but they're hard to miss as it's only one way up/down and from what I remember...one major lookout on the left heading to the lighthouse and then when you come back from the lighthouse a small one... More

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor... More

You will need to hire a car, it's about a 1hr drive from Palma. You could look at buses but it would be a long (and hot) journey. There is no charge to take in the views.
