Away from the hustle and bustle of the west side of the island where I’m sure the majority of tourists end up. The beach here is long and wide. The walkway along the beach at the one end is nice for a stroll. Lots of...More

We took the bus from Los Christionos to here, it took a good hour but cheap and comfy. It’s a lovely small town with lots of small cafes and shops. A glass of Cava and red wine was 4 euros on the front much cheaper...More

We've been coming back to Tenerife for the last 23 years, but it's the 1st time that we have stayed in El Médano, lovely little place, small town but good choice of cafés and restaurants. Very quiet, we really enjoyed it and would recommend

The black sand is characteristic, it was the first time I have ever seen it, and I have to say that apart from being very fine it doesn't stick too much on the skin and towels. The beach is small so on a good weather...More

We always visit this area a few times when we visit. We like the feel and laid back attitude. Great for water sports but it is often blowing sand around which may not suit you. Lots of nice places to eat and great to people...More

Nice little town. Only discovered it on our second last day. Within walking distance of hotel. Quite a few little gift shops, bars and restaurants.

Came with two toddlers in November for some late sun. Stayed in a lovely apartment - Part of the Magallanes Beach Apartments- next to Playa Chica. Lovely pool which was pretty much to ourselves as it was not heated. Lovely days spent on the beach...More

If you're in El Médano for kitesurfing like we were, this a nice place. There is ample room on the beach (even at high tide) for everyone to set up their gear, well away from the sunbathing areas. On a non-windy day, and before/after a...More

A great resort with a welcoming lack of night clubs, Irish/English pubs and the associated lack of control displayed by the few who drink to much. This is a safe family or couples resort comprised of great beaches. One for surfing, one on the edge...More

Not all days are windy, but most are. There's a nice walk (about 2.5 km) from the town via Montana Roja to Tejita beach. The eastern beach in a special cove is protected from winds.
