Although its not historically proven the place has a mystic aura. Founding place of the old Eidgenossenschaft that one has to visit if interest in switzerland

It's a pleasant spot and historically resonant though I'm not sure what non Swiss visitors or residents would get out of it. There's a nice walk down from Seelisberg although the boat is probably the best way there.

This is where it all began in 1291. The meadow is lovely but there's not much else there. However, the picnic area is beautiful and there are some awesome views of the lake here.
