Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend to someone trying to see the island with limited time.

It is well worth visiting the Pico do Ferro lookout. The views from the top are quite magnificent.

We stopped here on our drive into Furnas. What a way to be introduced to this special area! It was great to snap some photos from above and then find locations as we explored. It's really a beautiful spot.

This was a fantastic viewpoint of Pico do Ferro and also one of our favorite places on the island. We were fortunate to get good weather the few days we were there.

Definitely worth a visit. We had a beautiful clear day and the view of the lake was spectacular. Also there is a nice trail walk from the parking lot.

We wanted to go to the view point but not with the car so we took the park next to the caldeiras of the lake.
The way up is awesome with some parts a bit more difficult or slippery but nothing undoable if you are used to hike a bit.
On the top the view on the lake is really perfect.
Our only disappointment is that we had to go down by the same path as the other one was closed.
But after the easy hike around the lake, the hike up to the view point is more than nice to do :D

A great stopping point for an excellent view of the crater lake and town of Furnas. The walk up from the parking area seemed a little trying but it was actually very pretty all the way. Walking around this view point and taking in the beautiful green space was most enjoyable.

We hired a car and toured the whole island taking in all the viewpoints along the way. Well worth doing this rather than organised tours.

Mmm I find it hard to say. The trail is not easy and there are quite steep rises. You need physical fitness to do it. On the other hand, if the girl really likes to travel and has fitness, maybe it can be done with breaks ...
