Mosteiro de Santo Andre de Rendufe was located just 5 minutes away from the rennovated farm house we stayed in in Amares Portugal. It is surrounded by vinyards and cornfields. There wasnt really anywhere designated to park so we just pulled over at the side of the road. It is a once spectacular monastery but is now in need of a little tender loving care. It could also benefit from some plaques noting its special historical significance to Amares not everyome can google on site. It seems rather neglected.

A monastery you must visit. A very large and interesting church and all the parts of a monastery like cloister, refectory and the fields of the monastery.
