This is an interesting place showing Li and Miao tribal life and traditions. Lots of tourists, both from China and overseas. Girls in tribal costume will greet you at the entrances. The village has a large array of displays showing the Li and Miao traditions. It is a good place to visit on a fine day.

The cultural center was very interesting. The show was excellent. I recommend watching the show. If you have children then arrive early to get a front row seat. You need to have two or three hours to see everything. The museum displays are very good. Many of the signs are also in English, thank you.

An interesting (large) place for people to explore into the history of the Li and Miao people. Like someone else has already said, try not to go in the summer. There are no facilities with air con in this place, meaning that you will be outside from about 10:30 AM to about 4:30 PM. I got so sick after that... More

The minorities of the Li & Miao heritage and history are interesting to know. You learn about their culture, the way and how they lived. Miao was one of the strongest tribes where most of them are farmers and hunters.

Quite a disappointment. I thought I would be strolling down a traditional village with the ethnic people still living inside. Instead it was no longer inhabited and was more like a tourist attraction though the traditional houses were original. The guide however provided interesting cultural information including gruesome recipes of black magic potions to hold a man's heart. You can... More

.... when staying in the Sanya//Yalong Bay Area on Hainan Island/South China. The Li and Miao Cultural Tourism Complex depicts the traditions and rural life of the before mentioned two most important indigenious tribes on Hainan Island. This includes housing, costumes, habits, artefacts and -at about noon- a nice show. The entrance fee, about 200 Yuan p.p. is relatively high,... More

We were here on a Sunday and as compared to other parts of China. It was not as crowded I thought since it was a tourist attraction. You are required to pay an entrance fee, which I think was around CNY170 (paid by my BIL so wasn't sure of the exact rate) which had a club car ticket which had... More

The ethnic minorities of Li and Miao have created a really worthwhile destination in Sanya. The visit combines well presented history, authentic living conditions and exceptionally well crafted performances. We've been to other native villages in other locations and this one didn't have any of the downfalls. The shops were dotted throughout but nobody was pushy. The photo opportunities were... More

I think this is a place that visiters can not miss, you might get to know local culture better through this. Their clothes, language and habits are different from the Chinese you normally see.I went there by hiring a car, it's worthy to visit.
