I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a great day in the outdoors at a very reasonable price. The price included pickup and dropoff from our hotel. Captain Carl is extremely knowledgeable and is never short of a witty comment or funny joke. After a trip through Gatun Lake (where you can see the wildlife up close and... More

Unique view of the Panama Canal: instead of seeing the boats from the locks, you get to navigate right past them. Also, this tour shows you the Canal as part of a whole. It's not only about the boats, it's also about the incredible wildlife that is part of Lake Gatun. After touring in a motor boat, you are then... More

We stayed for 2 nights and from the second you get on Capt. Carl's boat your very informative adventure begins. Starting with the history of the canal and describing all of the ships, boats, barges we were seeing. The whole time looking for any animal, bird or reptile to point out and describe. We were able to see first hand... More

I went into the excursion with no foreknowledge having been invited by friends. I knew there was a boat ride and a floating lodge but that's it. And I think that really helped my enjoyment of the excursion so I'll keep this review relatively spoiler-free in the slim chance you haven't read much about it either. I will say I... More

Best parts: the lake is beautiful, the pickup was on time, and kayaking was nice Worst parts: Sorry, Captain Carl didn't seem so charming to us. He was informative, but I would have rather spent the day with a local Panamanian boat driver. I knew we were seeing monkeys, but I guess I didn't realize we were feeding them which... More

I support the local operators but their idea of a lake tour is to race out to the islands see a monkey and race back to the dock. Unless you take your own guide you will get no informacion. We do give treats to monkeys on a few islands. These monkeys have been interacting with tourists all their lives. We... More

No question this was the highlight of our trip! Captain Carl was fab, and so was Nav. We were so entertained the whole time. Couldn't stop smiling! We are a family of 5 (parents and 3 kids in their 20s), and we all really enjoyed the day. Lunch was delicious also. Worth every penny!

My family and I took the Canal and jungle tour which featured a trip down part of the Panama Canal, a visit with the monkeys and activities with lunch at the floating hotel. We had a fantastic tour guide, Christobel, (?spelling), who gave us a great drive and tour. Also there was a nice young man that was there for... More

Captain Carl is very entertaining and knowledgeable. He and his staff worked hard to tell us about the canal, the expansion of the canal, and the jungle wildlife. He made sure we saw all 3 species of monkeys with Capuchins and Mono Titis coming right onto the boat. We ate an excellent lunch on his "house boat" and then there... More

Had six of us representing six different countries and could only do this on a Saturday but this was not a regular schedule for them. However, they made special arrangements to accommodate us. Everything was great, communication, driver of the van, Capt. Carl, monkeys, lunch on the house boat, kayaking, swimming, huge vessels in the canal. If you have the... More

After spending 10 days doing extensive birding and a couple days in the hot city, I was just looking to get out on Gatun Lake. City hotel pickup was right on time and after picking up a few more, were on our way to the docks, about an hour drive. Captain Carl has completely channeled Kurt Russell's Captain Ron character...
