Get the forest’s different perspective, take a close look from above! You can be eye to eye with the birds and animals of the rainforest while sitting comfortably in the seat of our Swiss-engineered aerial tram system. Gliding smoothly through the tree tops, you will experience firsthand the sounds and peace of the deep tropical rainforest. One of the Gamboa’s tour guides will accompany you to describe the flora and fauna that you will see. The 1.2-kilometer ride culminates at a hill top where you have the opportunity to visit the Observation Tower. After walking up the spiral ramp, you will discover a panoramic view of the Chagres River, Panama Canal, Embera Indigenous Village, and the Town of Gamboa. All surrounded by lush mountainous rainforest. Recommendations: comfortable clothes, binoculars, water. Departure times: from Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays for maintenance

Great view on the river on one side, and the Canal on the other. On your way up some of the jungle inhabitants can be spotted (sloths, monkeys, birds, capibari, etc). Expensive though, we had to pay $40 each for one return (up and down), takes one hour in total.

I purchased the tram/canal package for me and my two kids, ages 5 and 6. I arranged the tour with Gamboa tours. My kids enjoyed it, but I did feel it pushed their limits. The tram was neat, but you do have to walk up a 10 story tower halfway to experience great views of the canal and rainforest. My... More

We saw more birds by walking slowly around trails and roads around the resort between 6:30-11:00am. Bring binoculars.

My husband and I took the tram at 3:00. Guide was disinterested, not that knowledgeable and incredibly difficult to understand. She was a student studying ecological tourism. (Similar tours in other countries offered guides which have completed their education and speak better English.).

We were staying at the resort where the tram was, so it was included in our rate. It was a nice tram ride, a short walk and then a climb up numerous ramps to the top, where there was a good view of the river, lake and rainforest. Unfortunately we went on a rainy day, even though it was dry season.... More

Tram ride is worrth the experience. A guide accompanies you and explains what you are seeing along the way. At the top there is an observation tower that you need to walk up . It is a ramp and it winds, not steep, to the top of the rainforest canopy - not to strenuous. At the top there are tremendous... More

Usually combined with a visit to monkey island (off the Panama canal and home to Howler monkeys, Capuchins and squirrel monkeys) and the Embera Indian village, this is a must for visitors to Panama. A chance to ride above the rainforest canopy and see the monkeys (lots of them), three-toed sloths (we saw two) and the utterly breathtaking views from... More

This is a great time. I'm not much for heights but this was so easy. The naturalist was knowledgeable and had lots of information to share. At the top of the tram line is an observation tower. It's high but an easy incline to walk to the top where you can see the canal, forest and Indian village in the... More

I am a little wary of heights, but this tram ride didn't make me uncomfortable at all. We didn't see many animals from the tram, only a few birds and an agouti, but we were there in the middle of the day. There was an oropendola nest very close to the tram. I was impressed with our guide; he was... More

short arial tram ride and climb up of a tower at the top.On the ride up and down a guide speaks about the rainforest. Seems a bit expensive at 40 a person for what it is.
