Really very beautiful park, with various paths overlooking Lake Liesjärvi.
It was a great experience, however all the paths were partially blocked by fallen trees (see photo) and one in particular was totally unusable, without this being reported. Furthermore, in some places the signage is not very clear and there is a risk of getting lost. I recommend getting a map before going to the park.
To visit it all would take a whole day, because it is very large.
In some parts of the park there are bathrooms, but no fountain, so I recommend bringing enough water.
There is also an open farm to the south of the park, which should offer a free tour, but where we did not find particular hospitality.

The working farm was very interesting. The park employee was very knowledgeable about the farm, gaining their knowledge from the last permanent forest ranger. Check the schedule because there are different activities occuring in the farm throughout the growing season.

We had great day at liesjärvi with friends. Guides were very nice and told a lot of interesting facts about the place and its nature. Go and learn about the nature even if you are a Fin 👍🏻🙂

It is a nice large scale nature park which offers plenty of walking trails of various difficulty levels with a nice lake views.

Liesjärvi National Park has 3 camping sites: Savilahti, Peukalolammi and Kaksvetinen. We chose Kaksvetinen and weren't dissapointed. There was a nice barbeque hut with plenty of firewood, dry toilet facilities and outside fireplace. The lake had some fish in it but there was no beach. Easy access from Sikomäki parking lot meant we didn't have to carry our backbags for long, even though we went hiking along Liesjärvi trails prior to camping. All camping sites at Liesjärvi were busy on a Saturday night in July, but Kaksvetinen only had one other tent. This national park is within a close proximity from Helsinki, and provides many intresting sights such as Kyynäränharju ridge and Korteniemi Heritage Farm (free access). Highly recommended!
