Great golf course, in spectacular shape. Would have given it 5 stars except for the port-a-potties. A nice course like this deserves real bathrooms. The price charged also deserves real bathrooms.

I have stayed at the Brookstreet and played The Marshes many times. Both the hotel and the golf course are phenomenal places. I highlight recommend booking a stay and play package or if you're not a golfer try the mini putt at the course during your stay at Brookstreet.

Conditions were good. By 5th hole marshal said he was "personally called" by foursome behind us about pace of play. Turns out to be young members. I questioned the marshal on our pace of play and he stated we were "on time" but suggested we play faster for the group behind us???? I assume the marshal was someones grand parent and the members get to influence the marshals directly trying to bully players to play through. We did permit a play through and the foursome tee'd of 7 times until they got the shots they wanted, no thanks or anything else said in return for the play through. Basically these ambassadors of Marshes membership and marshal were rude, lack integrity for the game and play with no etiquette. Never again!

I have shared your comments with our Head Golf Professional so that he may follow up with the Golf Ambassador group. Certainly, putting any added/unnecessary pressure on players to speed up a round when pace of play is on target is not a regular practice, and should not be happening.

Played nine holes of golf and really enjoyed it, had lunch in the main dinning room , will try the bar next time. It’s a relaxing place to go, and it’s practically on our door step.

Love the layout, but hate the condition (at least this year). Hope it was the very difficult winter that was responsible for the lousy greens. Maybe consider dropping the price until things improve? PS - post golf bar is great!

Love playing here (except hole 2 on the marshes). The greens took a while to grow in due to the harsh winter, but they have done so to a degree. Seems to always be tournaments here so it can be tough to get a tee time.

Greens were absolutely horrible! Not what you would expect for this calibre of coarse. We have played before and it is a very challenging course but for some reason they are not maintaining the greens. To be honest, they weren’t even playable as all your ball would do is hop. We won’t be returning.

Drive by all the time, stopped in for dinner. What an enormous disappointment. Thought this place had a good reputation. Waiter called me “Boss” 20 times. Ordered a Guiness and Mediterranean Salad. Waiter brought me a beer, but not a Guiness. The picture here represents a 20.00 Mediterranean Salad - Dinner portion. Pathetic food, worse Service. Borderline dirty, and ageing. Not recommended. Pick a different place.

this course has 6 - par 3's, 6-par 4's and 6 par 5's. Good test of golf - in very good conditions considering the hot summer.
