We went with another couple and all four of us were disappointed with lots of things. The fish did not bite the entire week we were there. We went for tarpon and saw a few roll but didn’t catch any. We jumped one tarpon but it was gone before the guide could get the rod. In 6 long days of... More

The folks at San Carlos Sport Fishing were wonderful-the meals were terrific, the staff very friendly and accommodating and our fishing guides were wonderful. We went for the jungle scenery and the tarpon fishing. We ended up catching a ~60 pound tarpon and a ~10 pound snook (dinner that night-delicious!). That tarpon was the epic fight I wanted-easily 5 times... More

We booked this accomodation for 4 Nights with a special Package. We left after 1 day because nothing was organized, Kajaks were not there .... The location is great. But we could not enjoy the place, the room was dirty and the bathroom was not acceptable. Better to stay in San Carlo City.

Philippe went out of his way to accomodate! The food was delicious and the conversation lively. Philippe even sent my glasses, which I had left on one of his boats, to Managua by plane for me to pick up. The rooms were nice, the staff very helpful and the location was beautiful. I would not hesitate to stay there again.... More

I have gone twice to san carlos. It is a great experiene to be looking for the tarons, with a snook once in a while in a very relaxee environment. Unspoiled greenery, friendly locals, very pleasant\home base and Sabalo Hotel down the river and suddenly you have a magnificent fish at the end of a 20 or 30 pound line.... More

SAN CARLOS SPORT FISHING: We booked a trip for the "Famous" tarpon fishing advertised on the San Juan River in Nicaragua. with San Carlos Sport Fishing. Once we wired our money in, the commucations with Phillipe, the owner, ceased to exist. The San Carlos Sport Fishing did pick us up at the airport, but everything went downhill from there. While... We are in business since 1998 In all these years we received around 1300 Anglers... Never had such a problem, will never offered service as described in this review... This would be a Misery.... On the contrary we care... This is why guests come and come back fishing with us even if we are located in a very remote area.... More
