About
Palazzo Parisio is a stately home dating back to the times of the Knights of St John, where Grand Master Vilhena escaped busy Valletta life to go hunting. Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna bought the palazzo in 1898 and renovated it in the most fashionable Italian style. The Palace still stands in much the same state, offering an insight into the lives of Malta’s nobility at the time. Surrounded by magnificent walled gardens, Palazzo Parisio is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani Collection, the only garden outside of Italy to bear that prestigious honour. The garden features a number of collector’s pieces including a variety of citrus as well as both Mediterranean and exotic botanical treasures, in which the Baroness of Tabria, Christiane Ramsay Scicluna, takes great pride. Palazzo Parisio is home to Luna Restaurant, where guests can stop for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. It is also the ideal venue for weddings, glittering galas, fashion shows and corporate events.

- Dr. S Bodishtianu53 contributionsWine Tasting dinnerInteresting, stylish, exquisite event as always! Dear @Palazzo Parisio, and dear @Andrew Azzopardi, you never disappoint but manage to surprise us in a good way. It was such a warm, relaxing, delicious and beautiful evening. The introduction of wines from the region of Bolghri where Sassicaia, Ornellaia, and Solaia are produced, were well paired with the Michelin standard meals. It was simply delicious! I do think that #PalazzoParisio's chef ought to be awarded with #Michelin star and it has been long overdue! Such a shame that some Maltese restaurants with @Michelin plates or stars serve bitter burrata and have their ceviche made from salmon which drowned itself weeks ago, while @Palazzo Parisio's crispy octopus or their beef or anything you taste is always at the highest level of freshness, zestiness and savouriness lack experts' praising. I am grateful to @Anton Bell sincerely for the great moments, caught by him, the moments we will cherish in our library of happy memories.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten November 24, 2023

- EvelyneGentGhent, Belgium130 contributionsso beautifulPalazzo Parisio, often called "the miniature Versailles," is an 18th-century palace located in Naxxar. It was once the residence of a wealthy Maltese noble family and today, it is known for its opulent interiors, lush gardens, and intricate decorations. The ballroom and gardens are particularly impressive, reflecting the grandeur of Maltese aristocracy. Student discounts are available, and you can purchase tickets directly at the entrance. You get a laminated card with an explanation of each room. It was nice that you could walk around freely. After your visit you can have a drink in the garden.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 26, 2024

I went for lunch with a friend and ordered a mixed grill of fish. When it arrived it was a joke! There was 3 tiny pieces of fish and a prawn. This was €30, a disgrace, we complained about the size of the portion and the restaurant was not interested..., picture below
Would not recommend if you are hungry, waste of money and will never be back

We visited The Garden at Palazzo Parisio for a family lunch on a Sunday. We knew the place well and the setting is undeniably superb. The food was good but unfortunately the price to quality ratio is lacking. To give some ideas, a simple, basic Spaghetti al Pomodoro e Basilico costs €24, a Parmigiana Di Melanzane is also €24, assorted bruschetta containing 4 thin slivers of bruschetta cost €20! The bruschetta was undeniably tasty and well presented but at €5 a piece it’s just overpriced. Cocktails are around €15, deserts around €12/14. The food was good but was it as good as it is priced? I seriously doubt it. I definitely did not think so. Service was definitely attentive and the setting gorgeous as I said so from that aspect it was an enjoyable experience… until you remember how much it’s going to cost you!

Really sad they decided to close the gardens as well as the palace due to COVID. I would have thought as an outdoor location they could have kept this open as the onsite outdoor restaurant is still open. It's also not clear on the website that it's closed, you have to scroll to the bottom to find this information and I feel it should be right at the top.

A visit to the gardens and restaurant for coffee was recommended. There is a 15 Euro charge to visit the house and grounds or 5 Euros just for the gardens. These were smaller than we expected and although they contain a lot of unusual trees apart from a lovely bank of bougainvillea there aren't many flowering plants. Although there were plenty of empty tables as it was around lunchtime we enquired at the restaurant if it was OK just to have a drink, and were told to have the table at the back. After about 15 mins a server came and took our order for 6 drinks. After another ¼ hour another waitress came to check who had ordered which drink. My husband asked if she could clean the dirty glass topped table. She said it was dirty underneath but wiped it after he demonstrated it was not just underneath. Another quarter of an hour passed, and 5 drinks arrived not six so another wait for a Latte, the glass of which was only half full on arrival. Overall we felt as if we weren’t welcome being tourists and not purchasing lunch even though we’d had the courtesy to check with the staff first.

Palazzo Parisio & Gardens is well worth a visit. It was built in 1733 by Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena and is open daily 9am-6pm. It's located opposite the Naxxar Parish Church. Naxxar is served by different bus routes and there are at least 3 bus stops that are within walking distance. Considering how busy the centre of Naxxar gets, the Palazzo is a haven of peace and quiet with exquisite interior areas; rooms with lavishly decorated ceilings, murals, frescoes, antique furniture and rare paintings. After you've finished inside, head into the gardens where you will also find the Luna restaurant. Luna serves breakfast or brunch 9-11am with traditionally English afternoon tea served from 3pm.

I came to Malta for the culture - what a big disappointment. Like a lot of other cultural sites the Palazzo Parisio decided to close it‘s doors due to the Coronavirus-Pandemic. And a it seems to be a tradition in Malta they couldn‘t be bothered to put this information on their website. That‘s just lazy and negligent. And i can assure you it‘s not the handful of tourists visiting museums who‘ll spread the virus.
Stick to bella Italia, France or Spain for culture.

Afternoon tea was a terrible disappointment. 1 scone each and some tiny non-traditional cakes in a building that smelled poorly, with cheap crockery and euro-store glasses. Asked for some extra scones (which are tiny by the way) due to the sheer lack of food provided and was charged an additional ten euro.
Afternoon tea is not even remotely worth the price, and the venue clearly has no idea what the concept of afternoon tea actually involves. Really disappointing as had been looking forward to it for some time.

A wonderful lunch and afternoon in this beautiful landmark palazzo. The hosts really took care of us. Margarite took care of our booking and chose a wonderful table for us and our guests. Mahmoud took care of us at table and made sure we were lacking nothing. He also chatted with us, shared experiences of his homeland Egypt and made sure the kids felt at ease and welcome. Both food and surroundings are equal to none. Definitely worth visiting this noble location when in Malta.

Food is amazing, but service is strange. Maybe it was because we didn’t make a reservation and were just a walk-in. But we had to ASK to have our order taken…
We asked four different people for ice and lemon for our water and it only came 30 min later. Same with a cocktail, i had to remind the servers about a drink ordered as soon as we sat down.
I am allergic to meat and when i asked the server if a starter had meat and he guaranteed there was none. It was to my surprise when the asparagus cheese cake comes to our table with a lot of meat on it.
Main course also took more than 40min to arrive.
This is not the experience we were expecting at such a high-ranked restaurant and ESPECIALLY with this price range.
We hope others have a better experience.

We went for a breakfast a few times! I would strongly recommend this restaurant for a breakfast! It is truly unique experience! The food is amazing! The garden is fabulous! You can also visit a palace for an additional price.
The pancakes are the best in while Malta! They are cooked the way it supposed to! Bacon is also cooked to perfection! I have never seen bacon cooked so ideally for breakfast as here!
The service is amazing too! The manager checked on all of the tables a few times while we were there!
Cheesecake is from the dessert menu was delicious as well!
The breakfast/lunch/dinner must be pre booked as sometimes there are special events when restaurant is closed or sometimes the full restaurant is booked out! So I strongly recommend to make a reservation even for breakfast!

Does anyone have a rough idea how much a wedding would cost at the palazzo palisio? Me and my partner are looking at getting married there next summer but can't seem to find any information on prices from anywhere? I've got my heart set on doing it there so am really hoping it's within our budget
