We visited to see the Abbey and the lighthouse but were surprised to see a small village there with some restaurants etc. The lighthouse is very impressive and we have seen it a number of times from the sea. It said it was closed inside, so not sure if you can normally have a look around.

A unique scenery in Brittany (and maybe even world-wide): a tall lighthouse next to the ruins of a massive medieval abbey church ... nice coastline that invites to a walk and offers beautiful views of the abbey.

Fun outing for kids with quite a few steps to climb. View is great. My kids enjoyed it so much they now want to climb all the lighthouse.

Easy to find and parking free. There are the ruins of the 11th Century Abbey, a working lighthouse, great coastal views and walks and, nearby, a museum in a former German coast defence bunker. The Abbey and lighthouse are very well presented with information boards in English. There was an old tractor for kids to climb over, part of the upcoming old tractor fete. One bit of advice, use the toilets in the bistro opposite as a lot better and easier to get in to than the public toilets located underground.
