I was amazed at the son-et-lumiere - literally amazed. Over 600 of the local inhabitants spend all year working on this, not including the animals (geese, donkeys, amazing dressage!). The costumes are wonderful, the feats of derring-do are impressive - but it is really the lighting and projections that steal the show. The show starts at 10 PM almost every... More

Spectacular historical show with the castle and the park as canvases. Sound, lights, colors, costumes and numerous animals. Great fireworks at the end. A joy for kids and grownups alike. And not too expensive (18 euros) considering the quality and the length of the show (1,5 hours). Tip 1: try to make the kids rest during the day so they... More

a huge spectacle involving over 800 people and over 60 horses plus other domesticated animals. A grass bank overlooking the Chateau and Lake sets the scene for a vast cast, many costume changes and great sound and visual effects. We cannot understand hardly any french yet it was still a fantastic experience.

Even if you don't speak French or know much about French history you'll be blown away by the whole show. The cover of night is perfect for scene changes and fire and fireworks too. Great 2 hour show .

A cast of hundreds, fighting knights, horses, hounds, shetland ponies, donkeys, geese and a huge piggy! Quite remarkable in a stunning setting often chateau, a 2 hour show of huge proportions. The show traces the history of the chateau, and though it's in French the visual makes the language irrelevant. Our kids loved it. One tip, you can sit on... More

I can only share the enthusiasm of the earlier review.Had stopped, fleetingly (out of season, quite by accident),in St Fargeau about 18 months ago.Impressive little town and just gawked at the Chateau from the outside ! But summer 2011,we stayed near Sancerre and glimpsed a poster for 'Son Et Lumiere' at St Fargeau Chateau and, since it was approx 40 mins drive away,thought... More

Even as you are watching this show, you cannot believe it. 50+ horsemen, 500 actors, trained hounds and geese, action all around you, including through the water, fireworks, fires, and 1000 years of French history portrayed in front of you. The event is late at night, (10 or 10:30pm so it is dark) so we first picked up a baguette,... More
