Acadian history so well told by proud Acadians. We preceded our visit with a meal. good food with good service. After the show we were able to walk down to the village. Be proud of who you are. The perfomers certainly were. A must visit attraction.

We visited this place two times. The first one during a terrible winter day (our bad) so we basically jumped out the car and jumped back in. We went back in May just to visit the little boardwalk and the houses (we had no interest in watching the show because we do not speak French), but to our surprise the... More

We had a fun day learning about life in a poor Acadian fishing village as told by actors dressed and living in character. The live music was fun and energy-filled. The Acadian French is a challenge but down to earth and funny. Le Pays de la Sagouine is a replica fishing village situated on an island in an inlet of... More

We were just ahead of the season however we were welcomed with a good quality meal and entertainment. Dorien and her colleague (so sorry I don't remember his name) entertained us with stories and music during our meal. I even learned to play wooden spoons! We then had an informal tour of the village. Preparations were underway for the start... More

I have had the opportunity to go to the Christmas dinner theatres and they it was absolutey hilarious. The meal served was delicious and well worth the $61.00 per person. A great night out with family and friends. The Acadian day events are a must see and must participate to get the true experience that this celebration brings to all... More

The setting for this living history village is outstanding. The views from the boardwalk as you approach the site in the middle of the Buctouche River are picture perfect. The musical performances were excellent. If you don't speak French, however, your experience will be limited as the storytellers and skits are in French. The publicity said to identify yourself as... Le Pays de la Sagouine is a village based on a book and a television show, much like Avonlea in PEI is based on Anne of Green Gables. To get you money's worth, plan on staying the whole day. You may even want to read the book and watch the episodes, to get a sense of what to expect. I... More
