Like I said in title this place it is a special one, a natural rezervation with a protected species of flora and fauna. He had a very good guide who gave us a lot of explanations and waited our questions. Beautiful natural peat bog with a great history. if you come to see the St. Anna Lake, worth to see it also the Mohos Peat Bog!!!

First you must go with a group, you just can't go tour by yourself. The guide gave us a good tour in English and told us about the plants and history of the bog. You walk across wooden steps so be prepared if some adventure. It was interesting and quite informative.

Guided tour, unique place in Romania from glaciar times.

The peat-bog can be visited only with a guide. The tour starts and 10, I think, and continue from 2 hours in 2 hours until 18.00. The visit is short, only 45 minutes, but you have the chance to see carnivore plants and a volcanic landscape.
Overall, it's one of the beautiful places I have visited in Romania.

This is quite an interesting place. The entrance is free. There is a tour guide every hour. He is super friendly and funny. You can see he has lots of knowledge regarding this place. The tour lasts around 40-45min. I totally recommend.

Interesting for everyone. No exception. Family, children, grandparents, youngsters, everyone.

This is place is a nature reserved and is treated like one. You shouldn't mess with plants because you might get poisoned or hallucinations or diareea, you shouldn't mess with reptiles because you might get a nasty bite and you shouldn't mess with bears because of all the logical reasons. Also, because here everything is protected by law, except you.
The good side is there's a guide who will take you through the place, tell you all about the beauties, the dangers and the legends of that place (they swore they had elephants there, just ask them where they are). The guide will tell you what to touch and what not, had dealt with very large groups of people and had three bear encounters there. He will tell you what to do when you meet a bear and will help you if you get stung by a wasp.
There were no bear encounters when I went and I felt a bit sad because of that...

The peat-bog is in the center of a volcanic crater that had a lake in it which was covered when the adjacent crater erupted. Below the tundra-like flora there is a 20m deep lake. This place is not only unique in the region but in Europe.
Visits are possible several times each day and a guided tour lasts an hour. Absolutely worth a visit!
