Don't expect fancy cocktails in Presa La Boca? Instead you will find people outside their cars drinking a beer, enjoying the lake view, kids running around or riding a horse. You can rent a boat or catamaran and have a party there!

Stopped by on the way from Cascada Cola Cabolla. I believe you can rent a boat and have a party. We hired a boat to go around the lake and come back. Guy charged $50 pesos. Went for a 20 minute ride. Wishes him luck. Not sure what people do here... found the other side of the shore lined with what I was told are vacation homes.

We went around the whole lake, the view is beautiful. The boats are too big to take couples or small groups.

This place gets really crowded during the weekend, here you will observe the low, lower and lowest Mexican classes drinking outside their cars with doors open and music very loud and if you look at them you know trouble is on your way. Police not present at all and if they are they ignore incidents and fights. Lots of drunk people, homosexuals, prostitutes and people asking for money. They have rent of MALNOUIRISHED horses and some jet skies at a high cost.....The place is very low on water and the little water that is there it is polluted and stinks because people do not keep it clean, lots of trash every where around that I will say you have a better deal visiting Los Cavazos or Villa de Santiago. Exercise caution at all times when here.

Food would be the main reason to visit if you enter from the carretera 85 side. You can't get in water and probably don't want to shore is dirty as well. We arrived on a Friday around 6. Plenty of parking and was not busy at all. Several restaurants to choose from. You can take a quick boat ride for 50 pesos a person. The other side of Presa looked beautiful condos hotel etc. You can also rent jet ski. It was an ok stop after visiting the Cola del Caballo for dinner.

I visited this small beach resort only 2 miles from the colonial town of Santiago, Nuevo León. It was a very family place with boat tours, horseback riding on the beach and plenty of seafood restaurants with views of nearby mountains.

Don't go on Sunday, it is very crowded. On the day I went to the beach (Saturday), it was not crowded. There were horse and pony rides, and boat rides to be had, along with a variety of vendors and performers to either fend off or enjoy, depending on your point of view. The best part is the panoramic view of the mountains and water. Locals often play music from their cars and drink on the beach. The view was worth it for me to visit the beach for about an hour, and had time permitted, the boat looked like fun.

Here you be able to find nice places ("playas") arround the lake where you can do picnics and also some water leisure activities. We went to mountain side of the lake to avoid overcrowded and dirty places as some reviews state.

I had a sauteed shrimps in this spicy red sauce and fillets. The portion size was for about 2 people. It came with a small salad and fries. The appetizers was tortilla chips with 3 different salsas. One of the salsa had crab meat. Again you can't not say you've been to Monterrey without dinning in here! Another plus is the surreal view of the lake and the mountains!
