Once a magnificent castle, but now mostly remains. Just after entering we watched the very good film on the history of the castle, which is very interesting. Then we walked through the various rooms, some of which has furniture from the local area, but probably...More

My wife and I visited this Chateau on a very foggy morning. It was built around 1550 and is surrounded by both inner and outer fortifications. Several restored rooms were available to view and enjoy the historical artifacts. As the fog lifted, the chateau became...More

This is an interesting place to visit and see the Chateau and learn a little of its history. There are some steep staircases so it would not be the ideal place for someone with mobility problems

Old chateau with a 400 year old history which mirrors the significant French historical events. Very quiet, not too many visitors with signs and visual aids with an English description.

Quite a bizarre history... and very well explained via a series of interesting technological interactive media. There is some ancient furniture and I loved the kitchens. It takes quite a while to see everything and I'm not sure if children would be entertained for long....More

Most of the buildings remain in good condition and contain some interesting furniture. Good to walk around. In addition, some exhibitions are staged and included, eg. we saw one on early medicine.

The building was beautiful (and mostly intact), but interior had only a few interesting but miscellaneous pieces as part of a museum collection. The grounds are lovely, but there are no longer formal gardens. There was, however, a wonderful creperie/resto about half a km down...More
