We visited years ago when our children were little, today we took our 7 year old Grand-daughter. It's Easter weekend so there was a huge Easter Bunny giving chocolate eggs to the children who found the 'Golden tickets' when they explored the Works on their train ride. We remembered the fun of the ride years ago, but today there are... More

A great deal of hard work must go into running this small railway. The staff are friendly and helpful and although we are not train enthusiasts, we found it very interesting and the journey is quaint. There were lots of children on the egg hunt and searching for the chocs was obviously great fun. The Easter bunny made an appearance... More

This excellent visit was as a birthday treat for our 4 year old grandson. We visited as a party of parents, grandchildren, and two children of 4 and 6. Both children really enjoyed the trip on the train, especially each time guards had to get out to stop the road traffic. There are excellent leaflets with things to interest children... More

Took a trip on this for the special music event that was on last week with the wife and children – we had a great time! There's a little booklet for the kids to keep them occupied, a trail at one end and a great little gift shop at the other. On arrival back there was some music for the... More

Took a trip towards the end of last year. Mixture of steam and other locos, with lots to see. Sadly the first part of the journey goes through housing estates which have built up alongside the railway, but once you're past that the scenery improves. At one end of the line there's a great little craft shop (we may have... More

We visited this attraction two years ago when, overall, it was more enjoyable. In my view this year the standard was poor. On our last visit, Father Christmas and his elves came on the train, which made the journey more interesting for the young ones. Also there were more activities for the children. This year the train journey was shorter... More

Choose the santa express and found it very disappointing and poor value. Train ride was approx 20 mins return making even my 3 year old ask 'was that all'. A slow journey stopping well before the usual end of the line with nothing to look at apart from people's back gardens. This was followed by 30 mins queue in the... More

A pre Christmas visit with two small children to enjoy the Santa Special. Great fun, good for younger children (not too big). Trip about 30 mins, again just right for little ones. Mice pie and punch for adults and a visit to Santa for the kids.

On the day we visited there were a few steam engines out. We had a return trip down the line on Elf. The engine shed was interesting and the guide had lots of interesting information regarding the engines. This is worth a visit on the event days so you can see plenty of engines.
