Native water music

Village culture with some native dancing by both men and boys, and delightful water by children and ladies, an experience not to be missed.

This place was really beautiful. We had a very special welcome from the men, then we were taken to a special area where the ladies and girls did a performance. Next the men came back and did a tribal dance. We then learned about how they cook and had a kava ceremony. We were then taken to where the truly... More

Where else in the world can you find a dozen villagers in grass skirts wading a swimming pool waiting for tourists so that they can happily beat music out of the water? No where else that I know. The women that beat (literally beat and pound) the water are obviously enjoying themselves. The spectacle is unusual and entertaining. The sounds... More

This remarkable group of women will astound you with their artistry. The Magical Water Music is the sounds of nature, the stories of culture, a welcome, and an invitation. Passed down from generation to generation, this unique art form will fascinate and delight.

We booked our trip through Hibiscus Attraction Centre in Luganville. There were 8 of us at the village. We had a traditional greeting from the men before entering the village. We then watched the women and children sing and dance. We were invited to join in the dancing by the children, it was so cute. Each performance was introduced and... More

We visited the tourist information office in Luganville and they booked us straight away for Leweton Village and their cultural performance which they do twice daily Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My husband and I were the only attendees, but I imagine they are busy when cruise ships dock. The people are from Gaua in Banks Islands but living in Luganville... More

What an absolutely fantastic experience. Sandy and the rest of the guys do an incredible job at providing an authentic experience. We spent a lot of time visiting the beaches while visiting Luganville, so it was great to visit the cultural center and experience the traditional water dancing. If travelling on a cruise it is not far from the boat... More

I am hoping this site is for the Leweton Magical Water Music village. Anyway that is who I am reviewing! We arrived on a P&O tour and booked a private driver who took 4 of us (2 couples) us to 3 places (including Million Dollar Point) for about $20 each. The highlight has to be Leweton who turned on the... More

A truly lovely experience into traditional village life and customs. Kava tasting didn't do much for me, but the friendly atmosphere and water music was most enjoyable.

Unless you are lucky to visit the Banks islands, the only way to experience the very nice and original water music is to see a show here or in any of the hotels when they have one.
