To the left of the gorgeous main beach is an amazing coastal hike that winds through wooded sections, secluded sand beach coves(2), and extensive boulders jutting into the sea.

The beach is absolutely beautiful and I do love coming here with my family. However, the amount of surfers that were here today on aug 13th was not good! They should have a certain area in which they can practice and NOT all over the beach! My son was trying to swim when he was hit twice in the head with two different surf boards and there were no apologies. He went under and thankfully came back up! Not pleased with the amount of surfers scattered al over. We should ALL be able to enjoy the beach.

It's an amazing beach and the province does a very good job keeping it in good condition with facilities on site. They are all under construction this summer but potra potties have been brought in as a replacement.

The beach is very long and very sandy. When the tide goes it recedes a lot and reveals so much more beach. As a bonus a channel on the far right end of the beach has a current that be be floated in to travel down the beach. It can get pretty strong for weaker swimmers but the water is around 4 feet deep.

It's a great beach for kids as the drop of the sea floor is very gradual so it's pretty shallow even away from the shore.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, and uncrowded. It was definitely worth the 50 minute drive from Dartmouth.

The water is shallow and warm and the day we were there the waves were perfect for playing in.

There are picnic tables, bathrooms, and changerooms, but the facilities need maintainence.

There is no potable water or food vendor here, so make sure you bring enough water and whatever you want to eat.

There were a few mosquitos around, but a little Off kept them away.

Nice beach with a relatively good surf. refreshing cool spot on a hot day. The sandcastle competition is a huge draw. If you go for this be prepared for a wait as there are so many attendees you will need to park a ways a way and grab a free shuttle bus. Well done festival, well worth attending...I will return and camp perhaps.

This is a fantastic beach. The sand is different-almost powdery. This may explain why they have an annual sand castle building competition. There are facilities on site.

Nice sandy beach stretching a long ways with mild surf the day we were there. There are change rooms and bathrooms which lead to the beach by a boadwalk. Dogs are allowed on leash.

This is a beautiful sandy beach with excellent facilities. There is a large parking lot from which the beach can be reached in about five minutes. There is a boardwalk from the parking lot to the beach making the beach wheelchair accessible. Just back from the beach is a large building that includes change rooms, toilets, and foot showers. These facilities are also fully accessible. The boardwalk continues directly onto the beach but a wheelchair could not easily be moved across the sand. We were there on a cool day and people were on the beach so I imagine it is very popular in the summer. If you are interested in going to a sandy Atlantic Ocean beach in Nova Scotia, this is worth visiting.
