Spectacular views of rain forest hills, Darvil Bay, and the islands beyond.
The road is in good condition, we had no problem driving to the top in our rental car.
The Tower of Heaven is a feat of construction, and also a test of nerves! It was windy when we went, and at the top of the tower we could clearly feel the tower swaying with the wind! Amazing views from the top of the tower.
There are several walking trails in the area, including a trail to the peak that starts next to the Tower.

The views from the Tower of Heaven are worth the effort in getting up there. On a clear day, the vista is simply spectacular.

loved it, but could not see any crabs during out visit !! Nature obviously cannot be "on demand" like Netflix ! but definitely worth the climb !

It is worthwhile to take the steep track to the hill where you are awarded with views over the forests, lowlands ànd islands in the Sulu Sea. Recommended. No facilities open there when we arrived at th top. A restaurant is displayed, but seemed not in function.

The view from the tower is amazin, as was the small walk we did in the area. But the most fun was the bicycle ride downhill, which we booked with Bike and Tours. Very steep at the top, but great fun a little further down the road!

Besides from the view of the Silam coast from the tower (on a good weather), there are also jungle trails for trekking for public. Road to the location is a bit steep and challenging so recommended to use a 4WD to go there.

Tower of heaven is located about 15km from the town of Lahad Datu. The entrance to the winding road up to the peak is also the same as to Danum Valley. From the foot of Mount Silam, you either hike up to the peak or drive (preferable). It is approx 10km by road distance. The view at the top is magnificent. The elevation at the top is about 750 meter above sea level. It is often windy and cooling up there. From the top you can view the entire Darvel Bay. Worth the trip.
There are also camping site a well as jungle trail for those who love nature. The flora and faunas are very exotic and distinct.

On arrival we were told motorbikes are not allowed on the road to the tower. The 9km uphill walk (18.4km return) was gruelling and you should be well prepared with plenty of water. However the walk is pleasant and peaceful, and the view at the tower beautiful.

About 8 km pleasant drive to the top, with fantastic view
To the top of the tower you have 277 steps but when at the top fabulous view, specially if you are lucky and have a clear day, unfortunately I was not, but despite the clouds (which made the place mystical) still got great views of the surrounding mountains and the sea and its islands
Highly recommend

Drove 10 K up a narrow paved Malaysian road after paying 15R each, jungle on both sides of road. There are a few parking lots near the top, which is at the radio towers. There is a tower to climb at the top with 360* views. a restaurant is there, but was not open. There are two hiking options from the view tower to the peak, one is 1:45 duration, the other is 2:30 duration. a bus could not make the trip.
