A beautiful Neo-Gothic castle with a beautiful exhibition. We were guided through the castle by an experienced guide who was very kind and allowed us to take pictures of everything. Unfortunately, in front of the castle, the lawn was being modified, so there were no-entry tapes in front of the castle, which spoiled the overall impression. Not far from the castle is a small zoo with birds of prey and white deer.

This is a âmodernâ castle build on the remains of a true castle. Very interesting construction and history of the aristocracy. Multiple tours available.

We went to the castle because we thought it would be fun for our kids (3 & 5) as well. The castle looks really nice and we booked a tour that would take about an hour. Unfortunately the tours were only in czech, but we could go along with an english guide book. The inside of the castle was nice and i think it would be great for kids as well if the tour were in english. Listening to the czech tour guide was rather boring for them, although they liked seeing some of the rooms. We were allowed to take pictures of all the rooms except the kitchen. After visiting the castle, we walked to the mini zoo nearby. I would definitely recommend this with kids, because there is a nice playground and the entrance fee is low. There are a couple of animals, mainly birds (eagle, stork, owl) and of couse the white deer. For less than 50 cents, the kids could hold one of the birds for a picture, which they really enjoyed. The restaurant across the street is good for coffee, or a meal, nicely priced and a playground for kids as well.

This was a second stop on a day tour we took out of Prague. The chateau/castle was very interesting and our guide there was quite knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to. The castle is quite fairy tale, and in fact, many movies have been filmed there. The decor is stunning,a few surprises along the tour. No photos allowed at most of the place, but there are a few rooms you can take pictures of.
Just outside this castle, there is a nature and wildlife reserve, which hosts several unique white deer, a population of birds of prey, and a number of rescue animals who cannot be released back into the wild due to injuries, or poor adaptation. It is a huge hit with kids (there is also a playground!). The bird show - flight and hunt demonstrations! - is spectacular. Amazingly, all the birds simply return to the keepers, and do not fly away.
We had an amazing tour with an English-speaking keeper, who showed so many of the animals in-person, and kids loved the encounters. For our tour, that originally included 3 castles and a stop in Kutna Hora's famous bone church, our provider suggested (because of the kids) replacing the third castle with this nature reserve, and we were very glad we did.
