The Caboolture Historical Village is situated on 4 hectares (about 12 acres) of land just north of Caboolture town centre on the old Bruce Highway. It is listed as the Number One Tourist destination in the region. The dream of preserving our local heritage started with the formation of the Caboolture Historical Society in 1959. The first building arrived 20 years later when the old Caboolture Shire Council Chambers was moved to the site. Since that time with the contribution of many volunteers and supporters, the Village has grown to be the popular destination for tourists and locals to explore the local history.

Stopped here for the day during a month-long trip to Australia from England. I agree with many reviewers who obviously enjoyed their visits. This is a marvelous resource which is educational, stimulating and pleasant all at the same time. The staff were very helpful, informative, motivated and amusing. Great to see so many children asking questions about the displays. Don't... More

Thank you for your kind words as they make our volunteers feel that all their hard work is worth it.The model train display has tested the drive, resolve and enthusiasm of some of our volunteers as there were hundreds of wires to be connected and minimal information on the scheme so thank you for the recognition of this great display and... My wife and I, visitors from England, spent a very pleasant 4.5 hours gently wandering around this super attraction for young and old alike. From the Railway Station and Train, Hospital, Church, Post office, General Stores, Laundry, Goal, Individual homes to the Lolly shop a real visual, hands on experience as to how the pioneers and early settlers existed and... We took our 6 y.o grandson for the day. In fact he had been there before and wanted to take us. We were as enthralled as he was with the exhibits. Special mention needs to be made of the gentlemen running the gem house. They took the time to answer a 6 year olds' questions and explain to him the... More

You won't be disappointed, pick a fine day, lots to see, would be a great wedding venue. Next door to Showgrounds, plenty of parking, not on Sunday's though as markets are on that day which attract huge crowds.

The village explores primarily pioneer Queensland using various historical, renovated buildings. There is so much to see and so many artefacts. You could spend the day here. It's an important historical experience and well worth the visit. I'd like to go back on a day where there's an event on.

We visited the Historical Village on Australia Day. The admission was $10 each for adults and pensioners. There were many houses and workshops to look around, and several places to eat, including a cafe and restaurant. The latter was rather overwhelmed on the day, and the waiting time was far too long. There should probably have been more staff to... More

You certainly hit the nail on the head in regard to waiting times at our cafe on Australia Day and we are very aware of it.Our Village is staffed by volunteers and these lovely people in the cafe were doing their very best but it was a problem,we were victims of our own success. On Friday at our events debrief we... Went with a couple of mates for Australia day and I was surprised it wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. It was a nice experience having to see old houses and exhibits from the early 1700, 1800s... I think and what with the military, naval (with the well made and impressive model ships), air force museum (with... More

I was totally impressed with this museum while attending with a school group. It covers quite a large area and has numerous exhibits, displays & demonstrations. It was like walking through how my grandparents described their lives. The volunteers who work there are very personable and really actively engaged the students.
