The abbey is quite lovely and well worth a visit. It has an interesting history in that outside is a sarcophogus from which flows fresh water - the origin of which has a number of explanations. The abbey has a beautiful cloister while inside the church are some old frescoes. It was a pleasure to be in such a beautiful cool place on a rather hot afternoon. The entrance fee is small.

You enter from the tourism office directly in the nice flowered cloister, from which you can enter in the abbey, with its painted counter-absyde and baroque altars. Outside, a mysterious Visigoth sarcophagus, protected by a gate, isolated from the wall and the floor, from which every year is possible to extract pure fresh water whose "creation" has not been fully explained up to now. Silent and "rarefied" atmosphere.

Radio France holds regular concerts here with excellent musicians and the concert hall is a wonderful stone arched hall with an interesting acoustic, although somewhat uncomfortable chairs and the temperature can be quite warm in summer. There is usually a small buffet of local fruit etc. afterwards while you can mingle with the locals and discuss the music heard.

Most of the building is closed off to visitors, and at 4 euro each to enter into the cloister and the church seemed a bit much. We have entered many other churches across France that were much more spectacular for free. I can see the charm of the sarcophagus, but overall the experience was underwhelming.

Hello, we are sincerely sorry if the visit did not satisfy you. Yet there is so much to discover in our abbey: the Romanesque church with 3 naves with the frescoes of the 12th century, the Baroque altarpieces, the great Schimdt organ, the Roman tympanum, the Holy Tomb, the Gothic cloister ...

Amazing abbey that is well worth the visit. Incredible altars, beautiful cloister and some old frescoes. This abbey has an interesting history, "miraculous water", and is very well maintained. It is worth the small entrance fee although surprising to find an entrance fee for a church in France. Be sure you check the hours it is open before going. Almost all the attractions in this area are closed during the lunch hours.

If you're passing and driving pop in. If not, and you are planning to make a trip by public transport and go out of your way, it's not really worth it. There's nothing spectacular in either the architecture or the decoration. The town itself is fairly dowdy too. Not recommended

What are the opening hours for the cloisters? Are they open on Sunday afternoons?
