Went in a family group with 2 adults and 2 kids. The day before had rained heavily, and also it rained earlier that afternoon. Path was passable until you get within a few hundred yards. Then it gets very slippy with few rocks and just mud in places. My wife and kids gave up and went back. I got there but it was a struggle and I am pretty fit. We all had trainers on, and of course walking boots would have been better. The actual falls were nothing special, although I a can’t be sure if I got to the main falls or not. Left feeling pretty underwhelmed. At least the countryside view from the path was good.
Note: if you are visiting after a dry spell then you could probably ignore this review.

The beginning of the walk was about 35-40 minutes from La Mesa; we took a taxi. The walk is downhill to the falls, and back upwards to return. It's imperative to have good walking shoes or hiking boots, and be in a fit condition. We saw a group of senior citizens attempt the walk and eventually having to abandon it once the going got too difficult. The falls were beautiful, and worth the excursion.
