A friend of ours came over from Barbados and he is interested in history and Tourism. I suggested going to the Old Hall WELL!!!!! I have lived here since 2004 and have never been in there for a visit. I could not believe how beautiful it is and how it has kept all the old features. The staff are so... More

Literally came across this by accident but what an amazing place. We used the free audio-guide, which also had an element of visual display, and was most informative whilst keeping the interest going.- not at all 'dry'. The rooms themselves were well furnished enabling you to get a really good idea of what life would have been like. Sadly, we... More

This English Heritage property is to be found in the Northwest of the town and although there's no on site parking there's a public car park just around the corner; in addition there's on road free parking for one hour outside the Hall. As for the Hall itself, well it's a medieval manor house built around 1460 and has been... More

An absolutely fascinating place, a wonderfully preserved building which has been beautifully presented with well produced guides to help explain both the history of the building and those who lived there. Pupils from a small, very well behaved school party, were having a great time, there is lots to appeal to all age groups. There is so much more than... More

Having not visited the Old Hall for over 20 years, we weren't sure what to expect. It was absolutely wonderful! The Hall itself is stunning, the audio guide was very helpful and brought the place to life and the staff were pleasant and friendly. We could have stayed longer, but needed to leave as our parking ticket was running out.... More
